| Abstract | A importância dos produtos MODIS (Moderate Resolution Image Spectroradiometer) tem sido apresentada por diversos trabalhos na literatura. Estes mostram a alta qualidade da informação MODIS para várias aplicações por um número crescente de usuários. Nesse contexto, o principal objetivo deste trabalho é descrever os produtos MODLAND, derivados do sensor MODIS, a bordo da plataforma Terra/Aqua, usada para estudos de ecossistemas terrestres. Estes são oferecidos gratuitamente pela NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) de modo sistemático, o que favorece seu uso em diversas aplicações. Neste trabalho, são pormenorizadas especificações dos tipos de produto e suas freqüências de disponibilidade, para facilitar a escolha dos produtos adequados a usuários diante de seus objetivos de pesquisa. Uma das características mais importantes para o monitoramento de áreas alagadas como o Pantanal é o fácil acesso a produtos de aquisição multitemporal de alta freqüência (diária), um recurso importante para a observação remota da complexa dinâmica de inundação destas áreas. As informações sobre os produtos MODLAND estão sintetizadas na forma de uma tabela. Assim, a informação apresentada neste trabalho poderá ser prontamente consultada por diversos usuários para diferentes aplicações. ABSTRACT: The importance of MODIS (Moderate Resolution Image Spectroradiometer) products has been presented by several works in the literature. These works show the high quality of MODIS information for several applications and then has increased the number of users. In this context, the main objective of this work is to describe the MODLAND products, derived from MODIS sensor onboard of Terra/Aqua platforms, used for the terrestrial ecosystems studies. These products are provided free of charge by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) in a systematic way, allowing to use them for several applications. In this work, the product types specifications and acquisition frequency are detailed, facilitating the choice of the correct product for users who already have defined their research objectives. One of the most important features for monitoring wetlands like Pantanal floodplain is their easy access to multitemporal high frequency acquisition products (diary), an important feature for remote observations of the complex flooding dynamics in those regions. The information about the MODLAND products is summarized in a table format. Therefore the information presented in this work is promptly useful for several users working with different applications. |
